Decorators Dream Sugar Cookie

1 1/2 c. Butter, softened
2 c. Granulated Sugar
4 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
5 c. AP Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt

Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, incorporating after each addition. Add vanilla. Gradually add all dry ingredients.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and prepare cookie sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
Roll dough out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut out your shapes. Place  them on the cookie sheets, with 1 inch room between cookies. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until only slightly golden. Cool on a wire rack and then decorate as you wish.. I painted and piped.
